Ahmedabad: A high-powered team belonging to International Council on Monuments and Sites (ICOMOS) representing Unesco's World Heritage Centre, will be visiting the city for inspections between September 25 and October 1. This team will finally decide whether Ahmedabad deserves a world heritage city status or not, by visiting monuments, old havelis and even talking to locals to know how Unesco's 'world heritage city' tag will make a difference to their lives.

Hectic meetings are currently under way between the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC), ASI, traffic police department and the Muslim Wakf board.

"ICOMOS has not declared the exact date of their arrival. They will inform us two days prior to the visit," said a senior AMC official.
