CEPT is hosting South Asia's first Archiprix - a biennial competition of graduate projects in the fields of architecture, urban design and landscape. As the first step towards this, an international jury will be at CEPT University to select seven winners from around 383 graduate projects competing from across the world. The jury members include CEPT President Bimal Patel, who is also chairman of the jury committee, Marina Tabassum, academic director of Bengal Institute of Architecture in Bangladesh. Ytjje Feddes, an architect from Netherlands, Frida Escobedo, founder of an architecture and design studio in Mexico, and Steven Smith, architect and urbanist from England.

"We have received 383 projects from various universities in world for the competition. This includes around 100 projects from schools in Asia. The jury will have around 2,300 panels to go through before finalising the winners," said Dean of School of Architecture (CEPT) Prof Anne Feenstra. Prof Sachin Soni said, "Of the 383 projects, 100 are from Asia, 31are from India and around 137 entries are from Europe." In Archiprix 2015 held in Madrid, 351entries were received of which, 75 were from Asia, 14 from India and 140 were from Europe.

From Gujarat, students from MS University of Baroda, Navrachna University, architecture schools from Rajkot, Vallabh Vidyanagar and Surat have participated in the event. The finalists will visit Ahmedabad in February next year to participate in a 10-day long workshop and final event. CEPT will host an exhibition of 2,300 panels of the final project in February. Being organized for the first time in South Asia, the competition will bring students from major architecture schools, urban design and landscape architecture to Ahmedabad bringing opportunity for city students to view best of the projects by students worldwide.
