The rapid development of Delhi and its metropolitan area provides meaningful examples of physical and/or functional integration between urban and rural spaces : the establishment of a posh residential neighbourhood in the rural fringes ; the creation of a satellite town by annexation of the agricultural lands of the existing villages ; the constitution by migrants from rural origin of life spaces including the metropolis and their native village, which is illustrated here with the case of the houseless population.
Le développement rapide de Delhi et de son aire métropolitaine offre des exemples éloquents d'intégration physique et/ou fonctionnelle entre espaces urbains et ruraux : l'établissement de quartiers résidentiels de haut standing dans les zones rurales périphériques ; la création d'une ville satellite par annexion des terres agricoles des villages existants ; la constitution par les migrants d'origine rurale d'espaces de vie incluant métropole et village natal, illustrée ici avec le cas des populations sans logis.
