The Changchun Vanke Jade Academy is a completed residential project that the client took over to transform and is located in an open new urban area on the west bank of Bayi Reservoir in the south of Changchun.
The original building is a neo-classical style multi-storey penthouse house product. The sales office temporarily borrows the first floor of the most north side of the building.
The current building as a sales office does not suit its functions, but it retains the characteristics of the closed and heavy building of the existing building, and it does not basically form a positive interaction with the surrounding natural environment On the east side of the building is Bayi Reservoir, an artificial lake surrounded by a very open natural water bank. In terms of location and scale, the entire residential land is actually surrounded by the natural environment of the reservoir. However, it is difficult for people to feel the close connection between themselves and nature before they stand at the sales office.

Note: the client has a series of ongoing projects with the architects' office, as a consequence, this is an obligatory low-budget project. Requirements for this were stated informally and the project initiated on brief messages and a phone conversation: "甲方提出的要求是在售楼处前广场空间快速搭建一个临时性装置，用来重新定义场地和建筑、环境之间的关系，以及重新梳理售楼参观动线。临时性意味着这个装置会短暂地存在一段时间，暂时对现状产生某种影响。而当使命完成后又方便拆除，甚至不留痕迹，这体现了一种“轻盈”的特性，这与现状建筑所体现出的沉重感形成一种有趣的"
