This vaav at Bapunagar has been reappropriated as a temple dedicated to the Goddess Kaali. The origin of the structure is unknown, but it has been entirely redecorated in the right bright paint and modern tiles to reflect local aesthetic sensibilities. Staircases have been added for the convenience of temple visitors and its open shafts have been covered by concrete slabs. This has completely cut off access to the bottom two storeys that are full of debris and waste. The stepwell is hardly recognisable until one approaches the well-shaft which, although uncared for, remains intact.
