Shut down is unrelated to Vox Media’s recent merger with New York magazine, a company spokesperson told TheWrap

....

Curbed Network — which includes the food site Eater and fashion site Racked — was purchased by Vox Media in 2013 for a reported $20 to $30 million deal. In addition to sites for D.C., Seattle, New Orleans, and Philly, Curbed also has city sites for Atlanta, Austin, Boston, Chicago, Detroit, Los Angeles, New York City and San Francisco.

“Curbed is sharpening its focus to deliver content where our audiences are most engaged and on the topics they are craving — real estate, shopping, and design,” the spokesperson said. “We’ll be expanding Austin and Boston into full time sites, while sunsetting our city sites in Washington D.C., Seattle, New Orleans, and Philadelphia, later this year.”
