Hans Ulrich Obrist's on the Swiss Pavilion at the Venice Biennale 2014

‘We live in an age where there’s an explosion of information,’ begins Hans-Ulrich Obrist, earmarking one of the key ideas that underpins A stroll through a fun palace – the latest manifestation of the Swiss Pavilion at the 2014 Venice Architecture Biennial – while walking around English architect Cedric Price’s London Zoo Aviary. The exhibition, which features archive drawings by Price and Swiss urban-theorist (and founder of ‘strollology’) Lucius Burckhardt, in part plays retrospective to the two visionaries, while also exploring the idea that anyone can become a curator, intellectual or architect, thanks to the almost infinite amount of data available with access to the Internet.
