uncube magazine Issue No. 26 Schools Out on Architecture Education

We would like to draw your attention to the latest issue of uncube magazine, investigating architecture education within and beyond the institution and including a feature on ANCB. After talking to experts and experimenters across the board, there’s only one thing everyone can agree on: the system needs a serious overhaul. Can architecture education catch up with reality? Uncube is powered by BauNetz Media  – a long-term cooperation partner of ANCB.

Shigeru Ban Master Lecture – Video Recording Online

Last week’s ANCB Master Lecture by the Japanese architect and 2014 Pritzker Prize laureate Shigeru Ban was booked out in just a few hours. For those of you who unfortunately couldn't attend, the video recording of the entire lecture is now available on our website. Shigeru Ban gave an inspiring talk on his extensive humanitarian efforts and private commission work, focussing on his inventive and resourceful design approach, which experiments with common materials such as cardboard tubes, shipping containers, bamboo, fabric and paper and employs them in structurally innovative and elegant constructions.

Watch the Shigeru Ban lecture here.

In Der Tagesspiegel, Susanne Kippenberger wrote a great article on Shigeru Ban’s work and his lecture at ANCB (in German).
