A collaborative workshop to appropriate urban space in the city where possible, using design, art and culture.

Can we transform dead, unused spaces in the heart of the city into energetic public spaces? The workshop will look at one such space and develop ideas that energize it.

The Visvesvaraya Centre in Bangalore, near Vidhana Soudha, designed by Charles Correa, was originally conceived as a composition of buildings around a vibrant public plaza. For years this space has been inaccessible and hidden from view. The workshop will focus on this plaza and its potential as urban, public space.
