Il secolo XX ha enfatizzato il ruolo delle narrazioni urbane. Individuate come strumento chiave delle osservazioni, delle analisi e della fondazione dei fenomeni urbani dai filosofi e pensatori degli anni Settanta, le narrazioni urbane sono nuovamente oggetto d’indagine in rapporto alle metamorfosi della città contemporanea. In particolare, il nodo del dibattere si concentra ora sulle relazioni tra narrazioni e progetto: le città Europee stanno dedicando a questo specifico frangente momenti di confronto e di analisi puntuale, evidenziando il disallineamento tra gli strumenti di pianificazione e regolamentazione, e le narrazioni a cui si riferiscono. Quale relazione tra narrazioni, metamorfosi e pratiche urbane?
in_bo Vol. 11, nº. 17 intende porre l’attenzione sul rapporto tra narrazioni e città, indagando il ruolo attuale di uno strumento e la sua capacità a farsi supporto delle pratiche urbane.
Gli eventi della contemporaneità e la loro influenza sugli spazi urbani invitano ricercatori e progettisti a interrogarsi sulle relazioni tra narrazioni e progetto. Le narrazioni possono ancora dialogare con le pratiche urbane? Esistono esempi che sconfessano questa frattura? Il concetto di città è davvero diventato retorico e cristallizzato?
Il secondo tema invece indaga le narrazioni all’intersezione con i fenomeni urbani, in relazione all’abitare contemporaneo. Le narrazioni influenzano i fenomeni urbani? O, al contrario, sono i fenomeni a influenzare l’interpretazione e l’integrazione di nuove narrazioni?
in_bo cerca con questa call contributi interdisciplinari, che potranno essere presentati in forma testuale o illustrata entro e non oltre il 20 Settembre 2019. Oltre a considerazioni e tesi di ordine teorico, la presente Call for Paper è altrettanto interessata a casi di studio di ordine pratico. Tutti i contributi testuali selezionati saranno sottoposti a processo di double blind peer review.
The 20th century emphasized the role of the urban narratives. Addressed as the key tool for observing, analysing and interpreting urban phenomena by European philosophers and thinkers in the Seventies, the narratives are nowadays getting momentum in relation with the transformations of the contemporary city. The debate is currently focusing on the relations between narratives and project. These relations are experiencing in European cities moments of argument and critical analysis, testifying a displacement between urban planning and coding tools that instruct them, and therefore the narratives to which they refer. What is the relationship between narratives, metamorphoses and urban practices?
in_bo Vol. 11, no. 17 will focus on the relation between narratives and city, investigating the potential of the former as an instrument that operates supporting urban practices.
Nowadays, the contemporary events and their influences on the urban space invite us (researchers, designers) to wonder about the relations between narratives and project. Can narratives still dialogue with urban practices? What are the examples that disown/confirm this fracture? Has the concept of city become rhetoric and crystallised?
The second topic concerns the relations between the current narratives and the contemporary phenomena of the city, considering their relation with the concept of contemporary dwelling. Do the narratives influence the urban phenomena? Or, on the contrary, do the urban phenomena influence the interpretation and integration of new narratives?
With this call, in_bo seeks interdisciplinary contributions to be published either in the form of texts or in the form of images. Besides theoretical contributions, the present Call for Papers is also looking for case studies that exemplify the above mentioned theoretical models. All the selected contributions will be subjected to double blind peer review. All the authors must send their documents before September 20th, 2019.
