AHMEDABAD: Is the country's premier architecture, planning and design institute losing its novelty? Like the last year, placement season at Cept University has got off to a dull start this time as well, with only nine firms visiting the campus since October.
….
Pressing the panic button, Cept placement cell had earlier this year held an orientation session for employers to ensure that 400 undergraduate and post-graduate students find jobs.

In 2013, only 21 prospective employers like Gujarat Public Service Commission, PNB Housing Finance and IRDA visited the campus. The university had to extend the drive from November 2013 to March 2014.

Suresh Patel, director, Cept career and alumni service, said: "The economy is doing better, but its effect isn't visible on the ground. Last year, 70% students took part in placement drive, of which only 40% were recruited. We're expecting a similar show this time."
