AHMEDABAD: The resignation of B V Doshi, famous architect and founder of CEPT University, from the university's board of management has set tongues wagging in education circles. For the celebrated architect, however, it was necessary to move on in life. "I want to move on. Why do you want me to cling to CEPT University? I'm involved in several other activities. Right now, my focus is on them," the celebrated architect told TOI.

Sources said that Sangath, the studio founded by Doshi to nurture budding architects from across the world and offer consultancy in architecture, is doing well. Doshi has several national and international projects to attend to, said the sources. The famous architect has also been organizing exhibitions mapping six decades of his work and this is also consuming a lot of his time.

Senior members of the CEPT board had different explanations for the architect's sudden resignation. But Doshi himself scotched all rumours by saying he hadn't been visiting CEPT often.
