Work in progress.
The Itaipu Building. Closer to the world largest source of renewable energy, the Itaupu dam at the border between Brazil and Paraguay, the building is the seat for the administrative coordination of a novel techno-park.
As in others projects by Javier Corvalán+Laboratorio de Arquitectura it explores adventurous possibilities with construction and tectonics, in this case via a cantilevered concrete roof to which the floor plates are suspended, thus making the building almost float over the landscape.
The building co-signed with Lukas Fúster is still under execution, nevertheless the construction images so are potent, that we thought it was worth sharing them.
