Regarded as one of the premier architectural events of the world, the 15th Venice Biennial International Architecture Exhibition will take place from May 26 to Nov. 27, 2016. A two-phase clarion call is being made in order to determine the project that will be featured at the Turkish Pavilion, coordinated by the Istanbul Foundation for Culture and Arts (İKSV). The deadline for the first phase of the clarion call is Oct. 23. The call is open to people and institutions working in the fields of architecture, design, art, history and curating. The winning project will be chosen after a two-phase evaluation. In the first phase, the applicants are asked to define the conceptual framework of the exhibition in the Turkish Pavilion. The projects are expected to be able to address the current problems, both local and global, in the architecture sector through new ideas and concepts, and discover new conceptual architectural frameworks through alternative interdisciplinary approaches. During the second phase, the projects will be evaluated according to their style, curator team, publications and budget.
