150 years ago, the Norwegian parliament was finally able to move into its own building – Stortingsbygningen. Various building sites and proposals had been explored, and an architecture competition had been held. Intense debates about the design and the choice of architect were carried on at the Ministry, the Parliament, among architects and in the daily press. The exhibition presents original drawings and new models that provide an insight into Norway’s first architecture competition and one of the principal architectural debates of the 19th century.
