Celebrating Charles Correa: Work, Legacy, Contribution Lectures, Screenings and Discussions 15 - 19 January, 2016 at NGMA, Mumbai Charles Correa (1930-2015) was arguably the most influential Indian architect to have worked after Independence. In a prolific professional life spanning six decades, Charles Correa defined the paradigms of modernity through his architecture, urban design and planning, and writing. ‘Celebrating Charles Correa’ is an initiative by the Charles Correa Foundation to commemorate his contribution through a series of curated screenings, lectures and panel discussions on key concerns of his life’s work — thus bringing forth his legacy from various perspectives. Within four broad themes: Buildings as Ideas, Housing, Urbanisation and Cultural Projects, the content aims to chronicle the contribution of his work and thoughts to the state of architecture in India.
