Speaker: Tarun Sebastian Nanda, Ecological Engineer, EVOLVE

The 50th Edition of Architecture and Society by Tarun Sebastian Nanda, a British Dutch Indian ecological engineer, focuses on his contributions to rejuvenate Delhi’s water bodies through his initiative ‘Adopt an Island.’ In this talk, the speaker will put forward his journey as an outsider and what made him stay back in the country. He shall elucidate his idea and discuss the science behind the concept of floating wetlands.

Tarun, who relocated to India from England, has been engaged in the field of environmental engineering for the last six years. He has consulted on several projects related to floating as well as constructed wetlands. Besides, Tarun also fabricates LED light fixtures from bamboo, cork and other natural materials to encourage the use of solar PV.
