SCI-Arc Introduces
Making Exhibitions in Architecture Today
June 20 - July 15, 2016

This summer, SCI-Arc will offer Making Exhibitions in Architecture Today, a four-week summer program exploring intellectual and curatorial potentials in architectural exhibition practices.

Led by Sylvia Lavin, theorist, critic and historian, the course will follow an intensive schedule of bi-weekly lectures and seminars, as well as guest-led workshops and excursions with prominent museum directors, curators and other practitioners in the field. Behind the scene trips to Los Angeles museums, galleries, archives and studios will advance students' knowledge of the many dimensions of exhibition making.

  • Work with museum curators and professionals in the field
  • Access LA's network of museums and cultural institutions
  • Research exhibitions to discover institutional structures
  • Analyze specific case studies to develop critical positions
  • Produce a critical project that counters or repositions an exhibition
