It was an ideal platform for the industry to congregate and discuss industry trends, challenges and market insights, and provided in-depth solutions, that help in proliferating their business.

The expo also was a perfect platform for new start-up companies in the domain to showcase their innovations.

The highlights of the expo included two days of power-packed, industry-focused conferences and technical seminars that discussed the challenges being faced and solutions being sought by the industry. The topics of the technical seminars included Municipal Solid Waste Management, Hazardous Waste Management, Plastic Waste Management, e-waste Management, Bio-medical waste Management, and Construction & Debris Waste Management.

The expo also witnessed the launch of two industry reports on 'Solid Waste to Resource' and 'Urban Sanitation in India' by The Energy and Resource Institute (TERI) and WaterAid respectively, in association with UBM India.

Speaking on the successful completion of the first edition of WasTe and SaniTech India, Yogesh Mudras, Managing Director, UBM India said, " In today's Indian landscape, waste and sanitation services require rapid augmentation amidst generation of colossal municipal, hazardous, e-waste and bio-medical waste. With only 40 per cent of Indians having access to improved sanitation facilities and clean water, waste and sanitation services in India remain meagre leading to significant health costs. UBM India's objective for launching WasTe and SaniTech India was to highlight these facts and the required novel and practical solutions, based on innovation and technology to align with our Honourable Prime Minister's vision and the national flagship programme of the Central government, Swacch Bharat Abhiyan. We would also like to thank the Ministry of Urban Development, and the Swachh Bharat Mission for showing their unstinting support in our endeavour."
