BHOPAL: After facing the brunt of monsoon and now a tattered civic infrastructure, resident welfare association is contemplating not to pay civic body taxes.

"It is an idea I have proposed. It is to make the civic body aware of our demands and tax-payers' requirement of basic civic infrastructure," said Shahpura resident welfare association president Himanshu Joshi at a 'Smart City debate' organised by The Indian Institute of Architects, Bhopal centre, here on Saturday.

Speaking to TOI over the stance of the Shahpura RWA president, a senior BMC official said, "There is no legality of such a move. We are considerate to the issues and would work to resolve them." "We are tired of complaining to the civic body over encroachments by vendors," said Joshi.
