Under the Swachh Bharat Mission and the Amrut Yojana, a workshop for “implementation review” was held in Gandhinagar Saturday, where Rajiv Gauba, secretary, Union Ministry of Urban Development, asked municipal corporations and municipalities in Gujarat to become self-sufficient in matters related to funding.

Asking Gujarat to become a model state in creating wealth out of waste, Gauba asked representatives of the corporations and municipalities present at the meeting to not just depend on the state or centre for funds, stated an official release here. “Urban cities should become self-reliant for all services,” Gauba stated in a series of tweets about the review meeting.
