State Legislative Assembly Speaker S Madhusudhana Chary on Wednesday sought cooperation of the United Kingdom in the development of IT, pharma and Smart Cities in Telangana. A delegation of the UK MPs and Peers visited Legislative Assembly here on Wednesday for the second time in a series of CPA UK programmes with Indian State Legislatures.

The delegation comprising Virendra Sharma MP, Nusrat Ghani MP, Lord Rana MBE and Helen Gardner, official of CPA, London, British Deputy High Commissioner, Hyderabad, first paid floral tributes to Mahatma Gandhi and Dr B R Ambedkar statues located on the Assembly premises. Later, they participated in a meeting organised by the Speaker in the Committee Hall-I. ... The Speaker said he was going to introduce paperless communication in the Legislative Assembly installing touch screens in front of them.  He said the State had good governance and the government had taken up good schemes like Mission Kakathiya and Mission Bhagiratha in the State. The Speaker also urged the UK delegation to concentrate on Telangana State and cooperate in the development of the State as the government had laid red carpet for investors in the State.
