Dutch architect Anne Feenstra, who was appointed CEPT University’s Dean of Architecture just two years ago, resigned from the post on Thursday. He was appointed in January 2015 for a period of three years after a global search and rigorous selection process. President of CEPT University Bimal Patel said Feenstra has chosen to resign because of ill health of his father.

“I empathise with Anne and can understand his desire to spend more time with his family. Hence, we will initiate a search process for a new Dean at the earliest. But to help ensure a smooth transition I have requested him to continue till the current semester ends and he has agreed to it. In case we are able to find a new dean quickly, Anne will be able to help the new appointee take on the job of planning various new initiatives for the coming semester,” he said.

CEPT sources, however, said Anne was resigning after differences cropped over the work culture at the campus. “Though no written communication was made, a few faculty members had informed the president about the different working style of the dean. Anne has worked in different parts of the world including Nepal and Afghanistan and the faculty members found his approach much different than theirs,” the source said.
