Government of India's plan to construct a grand and new parliament building by 2022 when India completes 75 years of Independence from the British rule has gathered pace as government changed the usage of a 9.5-acre plot opposite the present parliament building on Saturday (21 December), reports The Hindu.

The usage of the plot has been altered to 'Parliament House' in Delhi's Master Plan-2021 via a notification from the Delhi Development Authority (DDA) which has sought the objections and suggestions on its decision to be brought to fore within 30 days.
