Parliamentary Secretary for Higher and Technical Education Nagaland, Deo Nukhu, has announced that Nagaland would soon get School of Planning & Architecture and Engineering College under Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India.

Speaking at the National Institute of Technology (NIT) Nagaland annual Techno Cultural Festival ‘Ekarikthin’ on Friday at NIT campus, Chumukedima Dimapur, Deo expressed optimism that the faculty and students would be benefitted and solicited their cooperation and support once the institutes were set up.

A report by DIPR stated that Deo observed that undergoing technical and professional studies was not an easy task. 

He felt that it was an occasion for refreshing one’s mind while exhibiting their potentialities and talents. 

The parliamentary secretary also shared his thoughts on ‘Ekarikthin’ which means “sharing the same heritage” in Sanskrit and said the platform would give opportunity to the students of NIT and other institutions to come together to showcase their talents and potentials in various fields.  

He said ‘Ekarikthin’ would be of great importance to the country as India has “unity in diversity of culture, languages, and religions to come together through this event of techno cultural fest”.

Conveying good wishes to all the performers of the 3rd edition of ‘Ekarikthin’, he advised them to perform with utmost sincerity and diligence in order to display the potentials in them to enlighten the rest of the audience of NIT in achieving the national goal of “unity in diversity.” 

In the occasion the chief guest launched NIT’s website and also released the brochure.

In the programme, Sumi Students Union, Patkai Christian College presented cultural item while Kalino presented a special number. Principal of NIT delivered the welcome note. 

The three day event will feature popular bands like Magdalene from Aizawl; Spunk Band from Kolkota, Alobo Naga from Nagaland. Besides Cosplay, Nagaland beatbox Championship, voice of Ekarikthin, Mr. & Mrs. Ekarikthin, Rockville, Gaming carnage, Robotics would be the other highlights during the Techno Cultural Festival at NIT Chumukedima.
