Respected Sir/Madam

Sub: Letter of acknowledgement — Architectural Significance of Hall of Nations & Nehru Pavilion at Pragati Maidan — Reg.

Warm Greetings from CAAD — Chennai Academy of Architecture and Design

CAAD is a standalone college of Architecture located in Thumbakkam, Near Periyapalam Amman Temple, Chennai approved by Council of Architecture, New Delhi and affiliated to Anna University offering 5 year B.Arch., degree programme.

As an institution which spearheads, modern architectural practices, we strongly acknowledge the significance of the Hall of Nations and Nehru Pavilion at Pragati Maidan designed and executed by legendary architect Shri. Raj Rewal and Shri. Mahendra (sic!) at New Delhi in 1972. The buildings stood as exemplary architectural marvels epitomizing concrete technology in its times.

To celebrate the significance of these master works, we have held special sessions on Raj Rewal’s architecture through the CAAD public lecture series. Every senior faculty member in our institution have personally taken trips to the Pragati Maidan for experiential learning during our school days. We sincerely hope we are able to pass the lineage to our young student architects by protecting the Hall of Nations and Nehru Pavilion which is a National architectural icon and embedded in the architectural landscape of New Delhi.

Thanking you,
Cordial Regards,
Prof. Vinodh Vijayakumar
