Padma Vibhushan Charles Correa graduated from MIT (Massachusetts Institute of Technology) in the year 1955. He established Charles Correa Architects in 1958. Charles Correa was instrumental in re-interpreting modernism for the Indian context through his work and writings. From 1970-75, he was Chief Architect for New Bombay an urban growth center of 2 million people, across the harbor from the existing city. In 2010, he completed the Champalimaud Centre for the Unknown in Lisbon, Portugal – one of his most enigmatic works.
