VIJAYAWADA: The campus of School of Planning and Architecture Vijayawada (SPAV), situated near Andhra Loyola college, is all set to start its operations. A few students will be shifted to the new campus soon while the full shifting process is expected to be completed by the end of the year.

“June 5, being the World Environment Day, is a historic day for SPAV as the day has coincided with the taking over of the institute’s own hostels, which shall be put in operation from the ensuing semester which starts in the second week of July. The Academic and Administration block shall be handed over to SPAV by this year end,” said Minakshi Jain, Director of SPAV.

Though the institution was established in 2008, it was situated at Nidamanuru. The construction of the campus near Loyola college has been going on for a year and the shifting process from Nidamanuru was postponed quite a few times. In fact, it had to be occupied this March, but it ended up taking place this month. The north block of the hostels will be shifted first and the academic and administration blocks will be shifted in December.
