In a bid to achieve the government’s vision of housing for all by 2022, EPFO has amended EPF Scheme 1952 to provide assistance in acquiring affordable houses to the EPF members by allowing withdrawal from the provident fund to the extent of 90% of the total PF accumulation and facilitating payment of the instalment of housing loan.

The primary objective of this scheme is to assist in building houses for workers by integrating with housing programmes of the Central and State Governments.

The EPFO on Thursday signed an agreement with HUDCO to help EPF subscribers get hassle-free housing loans. HUDCO will also help EPF subscribers avail subsidy under the central government schemes.

“We are aiming to help 10 lakh EPF subscribers build or buy homes in next two years. The agreement with HUDCO is a step in that direction,” said Union Labour Minister Bandaru Dattatreya.
