Going by the response from top officials in New Delhi, Mysuru has no chance of making it to the list of Smart Cities at this juncture.

“Not possible,” was the reply from an official in charge of the Smart Cities Mission in New Delhi when asked if Mysuru could make a pitch for inclusion even at this stage.

“Anupama Mishra, economic advisor to the Ministry of Urban Development (MUD), told me that the Karnataka government did not include Mysuru in its list and so the city cannot be considered now to be chosen as one of the 100 Smart Cities,” said Bhamy V. Shenoy, convener of Mysore Grahakara Parishat. He had called up the officials earlier in the day.
