It was way back in 2010 that chief minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, during his visit to Sri Lanka, had announced a contribution of Rs 1 crore from the state government for construction of Sita Mata temple in the island nation. ... Now, a team of officials including Manoj Shrivastava, principal secretary of religious endowments department, CM’s principal secretary SK Mishra and Hariranjan Rao, MD of MPTDC, along with the architect of the project, will be visiting Sri Lanka to discuss the issue. ... The state government now intends to propose to the Sri Lankan government that it would award the contract for the construction of the Temple in India and the contractor can then handle the work in Sri Lanka. Once this proposal is put up, the government of that country may work out a solution to the tangle in consultation with the temple trust.
