Construction and infrastructure companies L&T, Shapoorji Pallonji and NCC have been chosen by the Andhra Pradesh government for development of a mega housing project in the greenfield capital city of Amaravati.

The housing project, with a number of towers, will provide flats for elected representatives and government employees. The project, estimated to cost about ₹2,652 crore, is proposed to be completed in six months.

It will have flats in towers ranging from 3,500 sq ft for elected representatives and All India services officers, and flats of 1,800 sq ft for Type I Gazetted Officers, 1,500 sq ft for Type 2 Gazetted Officers 1,200 sq ft for non-gazetted officers and 900 sq ft flats for class four employees, according to the Chief Minister’s Office.

The information was shared by the CMO after a review meeting of the progress of Amaravati developments. Team One India developed the layout, designs and plans for the proposed project. 

When contacted, a senior company official of NCC declined to comment on the development as they were yet to get an official order from the government. However, he said the company was engaged with the government for the affordable housing project in the State.
