The Klutznick Chair in Jewish Civilization (Creighton University), along with three other Jewish Studies center, announce their Thirty-Third Annual Symposium, "Jews in Urban Life," in Omaha Nebraska, on Sunday, October 25, and Monday, October 26, 2020.  Sessions with take place on the campuses of Creighton and UNO and also at the Omaha Jewish Community Center.

Jews have populated urban centers throughout most of their history and in almost all of the places they settled.  We are organizing this Symposium to explore the richness and diversity of these experiences, including (but not limited to) art, architecture, and culture.  Within these dynamic parameters, the Program Committee seeks proposals that cover any time period or developments from the biblical era to the modern world.  We encourage papers from a variety of fields that incorporate different approaches, genres, and media.  Whenever possible, we encourage presentations that incorporate visual/audio components.  Support for presenters’ transportation and accommodation will be provided.

Submit proposals (200-word abstract and a  CV) by April 15, 2020, to Leonard Greenspoon, Klutznick Chair, at [email protected]
