This is a call for proposals for a National History Center-sponsored panel on Historical Perspectives on Public-Private Partnerships, to be held as part of the program of the 133rd Annual Meeting of the American Historical Association (January 3-6, 2019, Chicago, IL)

Public-private partnerships have a long history, spanning international, national, state, and local contexts. They reflect a variety of ways the public and private sectors have worked together to touch virtually every aspect of society, from the environment to space travel, transportation to housing, security to health and human services, education to diplomacy.

Proposals may focus on one or more public-private partnerships, in any cultural, geographical, social, and/or political context, and in any era or eras. Especially welcome are proposals which are about— and, through the affiliations of their proposers, originate from—the Chicago metropolitan area where the 2019 AHA annual meeting will be held.

Proposals of no more than 250 words should be sent via email to [email protected], no later than Friday, March 30. Please also include a 1-page CV for each individual involved with the proposal.
