Developers in Tamil Nadu will soon be able to get planning and building permits online in 45 days through a single-window system, said Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami.

Inaugurating the 11th edition of property expo FAIRPRO organised by the Confederation of Real Estate Developers Association of India, Chennai Chapter, he said applications for planning permissions can be obtained through an online portal, which has been developed in partnership with IIT-Madras.

Deputy CM O Panneerselvam said: “The online applications will be scrutinised through the tailor-made software.” Stating that infrastructure is a key area of development, he said there are more projects in the pipeline. A proposal for an elevated corridor connecting Chennai airport and Chingleput to reduce city traffic is in the final stages of development. A greenfield airport in Chennai suburbs is also in the planning stage.
