Hyderabad : The Hyderabad Regional Chapter(HRC) of the apex body for the interior professionals in the field of Interior Design in India —- IIID—Institute of Indian Interior Designers to organize “IIID Showcase Insider 2018” a three-day trade expo which will showcase all verticals of the building industry.

Interior Design in India,  comprises of architects, interior designers, trade members, and educationists; on a single platform to sharing ideas about emerging trends in the design industry.  Hyderabad is one of the 30 regional chapters and centers of IIID. The Hyderabad Regional Chapter founded in the year 1996 has about 600 members on its rolls.  IIID nationally has 6800 members from across the country.

The unique and the only its kind of an expo will be organized by the professionals, for the professionals, and of the professionals is the 3rd in the series, and it will be held at Hitex, Madhapur for three days on June 22, 23 and 24th.   It will be a B2B exhibition.

The proto-types exhibited are the outcomes of the Workshops “Reimaging Urban Spaces”  held from June 14 to 16 at Saptaparni, Banjara Hills.  These proto-types which will be showcased will be disaplayed and reviewed by Architect Sanjay Mohe from Bangalore; Dinesh Korjan, an Industrial Designer from Ahmedabad and senior officials from GHMC and Metro Rail Corporation.

The objective of the workshop was to focus on the potential of design intervention to transform dynfuncitoinal public spaces in Hyderabad into vibrant and livable spaces.  Hyderabad, once city of bags and water bodies turned into a place lacking public spaces, natural assets and related services and facilities required to generate a healthy social life.  The workshop explored how to transform dysfunctional public spaces through specific design interventions.

Speaking on the occasion, Manoj Wahi said, the Indian Interior Design Industry size on a conservative estimate is put Rs 20,000crore off which the size of the industry in the Telugu states, he put it as could be one-tenth of it at Rs 2000crore.  The sector is mostly unorganized, and the size could be even bigger he said. Moreover, added that it is growing at a rapid pace of 15 to 20 percent per annum.
