Taking the examples of Junagadh, his hometown, Prof. RJ Vasavada will apply Prof. Louis Khan's ideas as a critical historian. He will discuss the role of text, the primary medium for 'theorizing' and contexts - both physical and cultural - to emphasize how it results in regional expressions.

Prof. Vasavada is an architect-academic with a longstanding career.

He was the funder Head of the Post Graduate Programme in Architectural and Settlement Convservation at the CEPT University in Ahmedabad. He holds imortant positions as an adviser in many institutions and state level organisations in India. He is the Head of Ahmedabad Nomination Dossier Project for the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation for the historic city which his now inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List.
