The building is a rectangular box. The short ends are plain with recessed openings and the longer face has sunscreen blocks similar to the students union building at Thiruvananthapuram. Similar to it, there is a second layer of conventional casement windows. The entrance is from under a tick shaped canopy located at around one third of the façade. There is a vertical strip on the three storeyed facade that marks this location and the staircase is also located behind this plain wall. This arrangement also hides the stair landing levels and beams from appearing on the facade. The water tank is arranged on top of the stair tower and forms a clean vertical projection on the roof. The concrete screen blocks appear to be thinner and better made and has a resonance with the overall building form.
