Bauhaus is the name of a school of architecture and design founded by Walter Gropius in Germany in 1919, after the end of World War I, to set apart the arts and crafts from industrialization. The 1st International Symposium on Media History and Theory, organized by the Faculty of Communications of the University of Antioquia and the Faculty of Architecture of the National University of Colombia, proposes three central themes: Project, Image and Algorithm, which unify the context marked by the centenary of the Bauhaus to analyze the Media in regards of the physical supports, the technical operations and the techno-scientific principles behind the texts, images and sounds.
