Reacting to a newspaper article, Anuradha Reddy and I visited Golconda Fort Area under discussion to gather information as to the ongoing construction of a toilet complex.
The area is very close to the ancient rock Jagadambika temple, the Balahisar complex and other enclosed fortification walls. The nearest ancient structure is only one metre away. Both foundations will be clashing. ASI rules themselves don't permit such unsympathetic interventions in this historic space let alone in the correct area like this. We are objecting and wonder what is the actual structure that is being proposed. Water and sewage are of extreme danger to this monument. This visit is both information gathering, awareness creation and a protest if you can call it by two people.
