The Master of Urban Design at AnantU is a two-year full-time multidisciplinary program offered to graduates from design, architecture, planning, civil engineering, environmental engineering and social sciences backgrounds. It aims to endow students with the analytical, design and communication skills to work within a more substantial framework of social, cultural, political and economic systems and the built environment as a response to rapid urbanisation.

The Master of Urban Design programme at Anant National University (MUD) seeks to nurture young Solutionaries who want to drive the change with their revolutionary thinking and solution-oriented mindset. It endows students with the necessary technical skills and sensitizes them to emerging challenges. The MUD programme encourages students to collate inferences in a multidisciplinary manner as an attempt to find solutions to various urban problems. The distinct but interrelated modules are carefully curated and designed to accord the students with the knowledge of the complexities in urban areas, along with instating within them varied perspectives. The pedagogy at Anant National University facilitates hands-on learning through real-life situation, cases and experiences.

Anant National University, Ahmedabad (AnantU) is India’s first Design university, established in 2016 by an act of Legislature of the state of Gujarat. Led by its President; Mr. Ajay Piramal, Chairman Piramal Group & Shriram Group; Provost, Dr. Pramath Raj Sinha, founding Dean Indian School of Business (ISB) and co-founder of Ashoka University.

AnantU aims to change the discourse in design education by making it multidisciplinary, industry relevant, and with a focus on sustainability and design thinking. It firmly believes that designers have the ability to work across sectors, and find creative solutions to some of the most critical problems of today. Hence, in addition to the academic discourse and hands on experience, AnantU is focussed on building foundational competencies of empathy, communication, collaboration, critical thinking and personal leadership among its students, to prepare them to solve the complex socio-economic challenges across the world.
