CHANDIGARH: Metro in the city, which Congress-led UPA had approved in 2007, is likely to be a crucial issue in Chandigarh Congress Manifesto, that is scheduled to be released soon, according to sources. The other likely issues are conversion of leasehold property to freehold, housing for all, regularisation of houses constructed outside the red line — lal dora — areas of the city, permanent solution for need-based changes of lakhs of the houses, reservation for youths in jobs, easing of parking and traffic congestions, non-imposition of new taxes on the citizens and exorbitant prices of employees’ housing scheme of Chandigarh.

The crucial issues identified by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in its 2014 manifesto, but failed to settle it in the last five years will also prominently figure in the Congress manifesto, said sources.
