For 22 years, Seattle Architecture Foundation has hosted the Architectural Model Exhibit, an opportunity for local architects and designers to connect and share their work with the Seattle community. We are now accepting submissions for our 22nd Annual Architectural Model Exhibit: Symbiosis, which will be open to the public from September 11th to November 23rd, 2019.

Symbiosis celebrates mutually beneficial relationships - the positive products and constructive outcomes of interdependence. Today’s interconnected world benefits from design based in this holistic concept, where the efficacy of group interaction is greater than the impact of acting alone. An architecture of symbiosis brings disparate entities together in an impactful whole.

For the 22nd Annual Architectural Model Exhibit, SAF invites local designers to submit models of varying media produced for both conceptual and presentation use. Participants are encouraged to explore different types of model formats and techniques. Entries should engage with our exhibit theme of Symbiosis. Possible avenues for investigation may include but are not limited to architecture’s reciprocal relationship with community, a city’s discourse with nature, or social media’s connection with the built environment.
