Found these photographs from my father’s collection. He has written at the back “ keep it safe”. He was a thorough academic. He was instrumental in establishing the Faculty of Visual Arts at BHU.  Interesting to note is that these photos were taken by the official photographer of the Maharaja of Banares in the 1800s.
