This Friday, our local architects-educators, together with delegations from 21 Asian countries, will gather in Manila for the first ever UAP International Conference on Architecture Education dubbed as the “Asian Architects in the Academe Assembly (AAAA 2019) with the fitting theme, “Today’s Architecture and Beyond.”

Now on its fourth year, the AAA goes global by elevating the assembly of local architects into an international conference. The three-day event is slated on May 30-31 and June 1, 2019. The host university is the UST, the oldest existing university in Asia and the largest Catholic university in the world in a single campus. This is a milestone event for the country to be holding the first ever conference dedicated to architectural education to be attended by foreign delegations representing different architecture schools in the world, particularly Asia.

This year’s international assembly convener is Arch. Jocelyn Rivera-Lutap, DPA, FUAP, dean of PUP College of Architecture and Fine Arts. She has expressed the importance of searching for what is in store for architects today and beyond.
