Seminar : Making of a Global City Delhi  - Planning
strategies and building byelaws

Thursday 23rd September 2004
Time : 9:30 AM to 5:30 PM
Venue : Hall No.7 Pragati Maidan, New Delhi

            The
Capital city Delhi has witnessed the process of urbanization developing
it into a large Metropolis over several centuries. Five decades of growth
after independence have made Delhi a highly populated metropolis with
almost 140 million people and expected to grow to 240 million by 2020. It
becomes imperative that the Indian Capital City must strive to become a
world class Global City.

Will the burgeoning growth of population, migration from various States,
ad-hoc planning guidelines, development in Spurts, archaic bye-laws
etc. lead us to the cherished status of a World Class Global
City?

The Master Plan MPD 2001  as well as the building bye-laws are under
revision, the Central and State Governments have issued certain
guidelines to this effect for fulfilling aspirations of the people. It is
therefore very crucial to review and overview the Planning and
Architectural provisions and methodologies which will enable this
metropolis to qualify for a World Class Global City.

It would be an ideal opportunity to interact and deliberate upon
the critical issues of planning and building bye-laws relating to Delhi
and its Built Environment. The speakers shall include policy makers from
agencies like MCD and DDA and the sessions shall be moderated by eminent
architects.

Seminar : Designing of Operation Theaters & Clean Rooms

Friday 24th September 2004
Time : 9:30 AM to 5:30 PM
Venue : Hall No.7 Pragati Maidan, New Delhi

Medical Science and related health facility planning is a fast emerging
sector of infrastructure development. Architectural specialization in
hospitals and related buildings, though ignored till now, is becoming the
most sought after service in today’s scenario and for time to come.
Operation theaters form a crucial part of this specialization. With this
in mind we are bringing together eminent experts from India & Abroad
who will deliberate and share with the architectural community their
expertise and experience.

We take this opportunity to invite you to these seminars which aim to
bring together expertise in their respective fields to trigger the
awareness and offer opportunity to share ideas and views.

Though there are no delegation fee at the seminars for Architects
& IIA members
but we would request your confirmations as to
enable us to make appropriate arrangements. Please indicate if you would
