| FLW needs "a strategic plan addressing the institution's "vision of

| the future,"

The Frank Lloyd Wright School of Architecture, located - depending on
the season - in Spring Green and in Arizona, has increased its
enrollment by 100 percent.

As is the case in most Wright-inspired figures, that's just one way of
looking at it.

Another is that the enrolment went up by eight students, to 16,
including three undergraduates.

"We were never in danger of falling below eight," said Pamela
Stefansson, director of admissions.

That number is important, she said, because various education regulation
agencies are watching the school's reforms, one of which is to increase
enrollment.
....
Last month the Arizona Republic, which keeps close tabs on changes at
what is known as Taliesin West, Scottsdale, including the architecture
school, Wright home and studio, reported a state agency had "opened an
inquiry that could put the school's license on the line."

That meant the Arizona State Board of Postsecondary Education was
monitoring the school's progress in meeting recommendations of the
Higher Learning Commission, said Keith Blanchard, an investigator for
the board. The commission, a national accrediting board, placed the
school "on notice" last spring.

Blanchard said Thursday his office is monitoring the school's progress.

"There is no status change, and nothing is pending at this point," said
Blanchard.

"What's happening with the school is we are just monitoring the
information from the Higher Learning Commission for the next couple of
years." He said the school's progress had been on the board's agenda for
its January meeting, but that is no longer the case. He said there is no
specific complaint against the school in the board's file.
....
With that, the commission set a deadline of Feb. 15, 2007, for the
school to present a strategic plan addressing the institution's "vision
of how it will carry the heritage and values of Frank Lloyd Wright into
the future," as well as a clearly described administrative structure, a
"realistic" financial plan, enrollment goals and a detailed academic plan.
