David Adjaye made his name as Britain's hottest architect, designing
luxury houses for the likes of Ewan McGregor, Chris Ofili and Janet
Street-Porter. Now he's got a new, if slightly less glamorous, passion.
Adjaye is on a mission to make Britain's public buildings more
accessible to ordinary people.

'Most public buildings in this country represent a certain grandness, a
certain kind of taste - they look like palaces,' he said. 'The problem
is that they alienate people as much as they support them.
