Green has turned into a struggle for residents of two environmentally
sustainable housing projects at the Benny Farm site in Notre Dame de Grâce.

One year after architectural firm L'OEUF and engineers Martin Roy et
Associés received a top sustainable design award for plans to turn part
of the 7.2-hectare site into a green energy development, many of the
project's elements are not working, unfinished or yet to be installed.

Promised energy savings and a better quality of life, residents have
instead had to wrestle with a failing heating system, faulty
ventilation, leaky solar panels and a raft of other problems.
