NEW DELHI, FEBRUARY 15
The long-standing wrangling between the Delhi government and Delhi Urban
Arts Commission (DUAC) may finally be reaching an end. The Union Ministry of
Urban Development last week issued a circular for nomination of a new
Committee chairperson and panel members.

New Delhi, February 20 Delhi Urban Arts Commission (DUAC) chairperson
Charles Correa and all three members of the panel resigned on Wednesday
— more than a month before their term was to terminate, on March 30.
Correa and DUAC members Dr Narayani Gupta, Jasbir Sawhney, and Mohammad
Shaheer sent their resignation to the Ministry of Urban Development.

Their resignation was not accepted till late evening but the UD ministry
had already issued a circular to begin the process of appointing a new
chairperson and members on February 7, as reported by Newsline on
February 15. The office-bearers are appointed by the ministry for a
three-year term.
